Five tips to nail your marketing in 2024

As we kickstart 2024, small businesses & entrepreneurs around Australia are thinking, “This year needs to be different”.

I know you’re ready for more time freedom, more clients and more sales. Well, after building a multi-million-dollar business through social media over the past three years and spending just two hours a week on my marketing, I’ve got some marketing strategies to help you build your dream business in 2024.

1. You need to be across more than one platform (in fact I recommend three).

One is great, but three will give you omnipresence (that sense that you’re “everywhere”). Now don’t freak out, I know that creating content for one platform is overwhelming enough, here’s my strategy for posting on three:

  • Create content for Instagram for a week.
  • Auto-post it to my FB page (you can also auto-post to Linked In if that’s more your jam) using a scheduling app like Later.
  • Take one of those posts and turn it into an email to your list with a CTA to book a call with you.

Simple. Marketing done.

2. Keep videos simple

Gone are the days of complex reels and fancy transitions. Some of the most viral content on the internet is a video of the sky with a quote over the top and some trending audio.

Keep it simple:

  • If you want follower growth: make shareable content (quotes, tips, tricks and memes).
  • If you want leads: create videos that share a free resource (like a checklist or guide).
  • If you want sales: create videos that show the BTS of getting your clients a result (walkthroughs and case studies).

3. Be ready to blow up

Ask yourself this question, “If I had 100 new enquiries overnight, could I handle them?”

You’re doing all of this marketing, but what happens when one finally pays off and goes “viral”?

Make sure you have a sales process in place to qualify the leads and get qualified leads on to sales calls before trying to go viral (trust me, I know).

4. Email marketing is not dead (in fact it’s alive and thriving)

A whopping 99 per cent of email users check their emails every day and HubSpot predicts that over $11 billion dollars in sales will be generated via email marketing in 2024. If that’s not reason enough to start sending emails, I don’t know what else I can do to convince you.

Not only does email marketing work, but it’s the only audience you own. If your social media accounts get deleted… this list is all you have. So, my advice for 2024, get to work on growing it.

5. Share your methods to stand out

Your unique way of doing things is why someone will choose you! Stop trying to ‘out-teach’ your competition and instead ‘out-demonstrate’. Show your audience your processes, show them your plan to get a client a result, and show them the advice you would give to a client.

Share it with them so they can see that you actually have a system for getting them a result, and you’ll get more qualified leads much faster.

Creating a repeatable, simple marketing plan is the key to marketing success in 2024.
