TSBI focusing on you, your business…and your success

TSBI

“The Small Business Institute has a mission of building a community of small business owners who shop and work with each other to ensure everyone’s ongoing business sustainability and financial viability.”

The Small Business Institute (TSBI) is a valuable resource for small-business owners and operators. Before talking about how TSBI supports and promotes the small business sector in Australia, may I take this opportunity to apologise to you, our readers, and TSBI, a valued partner of Inside Small Business, about a couple of errata in their foreword in the recent issue 13 of our quarterly magazine.

Firstly, Anthony Turner was described in the byline as founder of the Institute when he is, in fact, one of its directors. And secondly, our precede to the article, “a voice for small business”, implied the organisation is a Victorian institution when in reality it is very much a national one, helping small businesses across the continent.

Sorry for any confusion / misinformation this caused. To ensure clarity, here are a few details on the Institute’s services and how they are immersed in Australian small business, compiled with the assistance of Anthony and TSBI CEO, David Gregory.

The Small Business Institute (TSBI) is all about You, Your business and YOUR success.

Many will ask what’s different about The Small Business Institute compared to other organisations.

David stated that “TSBI has a mission of building a community of small business owners who shop and work with each other to ensure everyone’s ongoing business sustainability and financial viability.”

With approximately 22,500 members listed Members and TSBI having its own Membership of SEAANZ (Small Enterprise Association of Australia & New Zealand), ICSB ( International Council of Small Business), COSBOA (Council of Small Business Organisations Australia), TSBI is well on the way of becoming a major voice for small business in Australia.

When asked about Member benefits, David spoke about Members having the ability to list their businesses on the TSBI directory, making use of the many videos and podcasts with business experts, regulators and government representatives PLUS the ability to download and use a wide variety of freely available resources from the TSBI website.

He also spoke about how TSBI is implementing a variety of workshops, seminars and training options to help members start, grow or exit their businesses. Some of the topic offerings include Managing Stress in Business, Digital Productivity, Online Marketing, Building Better Business and Women in Business. David explained details of dates and locations will all be promoted on the TSBI Events Calendar and social media.

One of the key platforms David mentioned that TSBI is building is the great opportunity for TSBI Members to build their own businesses by cross promoting to other Members. David explained this can be easily achieved for free through each Members unique directory listing OR through participation in one of the paid Supplier/Sponsor packages that provide active marketing by TSBI to the wider Membership.
