The Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA) is set to host National Small Business Summit 2021 from 9 – 10 September 2021 at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, having had to cancel last year’s event due to COVID-19.
This year’s summit will have greater significance in the light of the pandemic and the ongoing recovery efforts. In particular, the organisers are hoping to highlight small business perspectives that will sway government, policymakers and regulators in crafting tangible policies and regulatory changes.
“To make an impact at policy level which benefits the wider community, COSBOA need many viewpoints,” newly appointed Interim CEO of COSBOA, Alexi Boyd, said. “The Summit is a fantastic opportunity to bridge the conversation gap between what small businesses need, and how to communicate that to regulators, policy makers and Government.
“We need to come together to share what’s going on from the ground up, so our leaders know what ‘real’ changes are needed to support our small businesses,” Boyd added. “Join us at the Summit and let’s empower our biggest employer in Australia to continue to ‘get on with their work’ and drive future prosperity and economic growth.”
The two-day summit will have panels, Q&As and debates that will cover: regulation (including taxation; competition; securities and investments; workplace relations and financial complaints; digitisation and cybersecurity; pandemic policy (including insurance, landlords and insolvency Industrial relations); mental health; sustainability; and banking, finance and superannuation.
Registration for the summit is now open.
