Government-supported business network Industry Capability Network and climate-tech company ClimateClever have partnered to create a new platform that will provide cost-effective ways to measure and reduce carbon emissions and help Australia respond to climate change.
The ClimateClever platform is designed to benefit thousands of SMEs, enabling them to accurately measure their carbon footprint throughout the year, identify strategies to reduce, as well as offset their emissions to become carbon neutral.
It is noted that while climate change action is needed at all levels, SMEs have been identified as key players in ensuring that Australia meets its new national and global Net-Zero climate targets. However, many businesses have expressed confusion as to how to start. To combat this issue, the ICN-ClimateClever partnership and program will provide educational opportunities for SMEs, to increase their knowledge around climate action and help guide them in their efforts to reduce their carbon emissions.
“We’re excited about the acceleration that ICN and its network of suppliers can bring to our commitment to achieving Net-Zero,” ICN Limited CEO Warren Jansen said. “It will be the engine to power the change needed.”
ICN is a government-funded industry network, providing businesses with fair and reasonable access to opportunities, and has been identified to have a unique position to drive adoption of climate change solutions and report on its impact from national businesses down to the local contractor.
ClimateClever is a 100 per cent Australian-owned climate-tech company that helps SMEs get started on their climate journey by making climate action affordable and accessible for everyone. It is also a Climate Active Registered consultant, which enables it to support small businesses in innovating and adopting smarter practices and technologies to reduce emissions and save money.
“This partnership with ICN is an incredibly exciting opportunity to decarbonise our cities and built environment and see significant change happen at scale,” Founder and CEO of ClimateClever Dr Vanessa Rauland said. “Through our ClimateClever platform, we are enabling smaller companies to step up and become climate leaders.”
