Squeakie, an Australian hand sanitiser, has been selected out of hundreds of entrants as Australia’s first Big Product Pitch Awards winner and the recipient of a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by Coles.

The inaugural awards promoted by RANGEme, an online platform that connects fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) businesses to retail buyers, featured judges from Coles, Coles Express, Blooms The Chemist, Harris Farm and Healthy Life. The first of its kind, the initiative encourages FMCG businesses to sharpen their pitching skills, which are fundamental to getting their product signed on by a retailer.

‘We’re elated to have won,’ said Kirsten Scholes Williams, Co-Founder and Director. ‘In addition to the incredible exposure our product has received from being judged by industry experts, we will be using the prize money for marketing and product development and will give 10% of our winnings to a great cause that needs a helping hand.’

Squeakie created a unique video that creatively and concisely pitched its product, which is the only 100% natural hand sanitiser in Australia that complies with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centre for Disease Control (CDC) hand sanitiser guidelines.

Coles’ Jon Haggett said: ‘We were excited to be involved in this program which helped to increase recognition of small and medium businesses and reward them for their innovation.’
