Tasmanian horse hoof boots maker named eCommerce Exporter of the Year

Tasmania-based hoof boots maker Scoot Boot has won the eCommerce Exporter of the Year Award at the 61st Australian Export Awards.

Scoot Boot manufactures equine hoof boots using thermoplastic urethane, which the company says has high abrasive and shock-absorbing qualities.

The company claims that its products are a natural barefoot alternative to metal horseshoes and do not get soggy or heavy even if used through mud and wet terrain.

Scoot Boot sells in more than 100 countries, with parts of Europe and the US accounting for 80 per cent of the company’s revenue.

Scoot Boot co-founder and CEO, Annette Kaitinis, said that the company recently onboarded two wholesale customers from Russia and has received its first order from Saudi Arabia and Lithuania. She added that Latin American markets including Mexico have a growing interest in Scoot Boot products.

“Using social media we are able to engage more and more with some very specific segments from top-ranking showjumpers and reining horse champions to pony club members and serious trail riders,” Kaitinis said. “Winning this award means so much to us in further building our brand and international credentials.”

The eCommerce finalists for the awards were Apxium, Homart Pharmaceuticals, Homebodii, Lash Therapy Australia and Zhivago.
