iPad POS app – a breath of oxygen

Case study

Name                 Natalie
Business        O2 bar oxygen station
Location            Darling Harbour, NSW

The POSiSales system is currently used by florists, giftware businesses, cafés, small grocery stores, service-based businesses, restaurants, a Japanese tool company and a mobile Ford Transit food & drink van called ‘The Buzz’.

An iPad point-of-sale system

The O2 Bar Oxygen Station uses a software system called POSiSales by Symbiotic, an Australia-based app-development company.

Staff find it convenient and easy to use. The app is designed to support up to 1200 products and all transactions can be conducted on an iPad.

How it works

The application is used to invoice and report on patrons who are using the new Oxygen Bar, where breathing oxygen bubbling through herbal mixtures gives a euphoric, relaxing, healthful lift.

Natalie says, ‘What I love most about POSiSales is when money is paid – a cash drawer opens, an invoice prints wirelessly on the receipt printer and a report can be sent to Dropbox at the end of the day. It makes life easy for us and was a no-brainer when we considered other options.’

If you can press the buttons on an old cash register, then you can use the POSiSales application.

It drastically reduces the POS system cost compared to running a computer-based system, so a small business can reduce operational costs, increase productivity and remain ahead of the competition.

Advice to other businesses?

‘The best advice I can give to other businesses,’ Natalie says, ‘is to make sure they choose a [POS system] that is cost effective and easy to use. We happily recommend the POSiSales.’
