Use of your personal information

General Conference/Event Privacy Notice. In registering for a conference or event that we manage, relevant details will be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates (name and organisation only), and may be made available to parties directly related to the conference including Octomedia, the client, venues and accommodation providers (for the purpose of room bookings and conference options), key sponsors (subject to strict conditions) and parties associated with relevant conferences. Should you not wish for your details to be passed on for the above purposes, email the relevant conference email address (found on the online registration page) or [email protected] Please be aware that photos will be taken at events and provided to the conference client and these may be used for promotion purposes digitally or on print mediums.

Security

We (or our third party suppliers) take reasonable steps to protect information from unauthorized use or loss including measures as to the manner in which it is stored on a server.

Transfer out of Australia                             

Sometimes our trusted external suppliers (such as our web hosting service or data storage service) may transfer data outside of Australia.  You consent to the transfer and/or storage of your personal information outside of Australia where this is done in the normal course of us receiving services from trusted external suppliers.

Payment Information

Any information you provide related to the processing of payments is provided by you to our third party payment gateway, PayPal Pty Limited, and is not protected by this Privacy Policy.  Instead it is subject to the legal terms between you and the third party payment gateway and we make no representations as to the security of their systems or their treatment of personal information. To the extent legally permissible, you agree that we are in no way liable for the treatment of such information.

Public message boards, directory listings etc

Any information (including personally identifiable and sensitive information) which you disclose in any directory listing, forum or other messaging or communication service provided on the website may be viewed, collected and used by other website users whose actions are outside of our control. You acknowledge that the information you disclose may be available to other website users and is not subject to the protections set out in this Privacy Policy.
