New small business grant announced

The grant winner will receive a prize package that includes $10,000 worth of parcel and freight services and a three-month business mentorship.

In recognition of the role small business plays in powering the economy, parcel courier and freight reseller, Pack & Send, has launched the inaugural Pack & Send Small Business Logistics Grant, giving Australian small businesses an opportunity to turbo-charge their growth plans.

ABS figures reveal that Australia is home to more than 2.1 million small businesses* employing 4.7 million** Australians, making this segment a key driver of economic activity.

With cashflow, marketing and prioritising time among the key challenges small-business owners face, the Pack & Send Small Business Logistics Grant aims to take the organisation and cost of courier and freight services off the hands of business owners, letting them get on with creating, thinking and innovating.

The winning small business will receive a prize package that includes $10,000 worth of parcel and freight services, a three-month business mentorship with Ms Hannah Staples, co-founder of Peppermint Grove Australia and a Pack & Send account manager to provide parcel courier and freighting advice.

Pack & Send founder and CEO Mr Michael Paul said, “Australians are well-known for their enterprising spirit and willingness to have a go. We’ve seen huge demand from small businesses partnering with us over recent years and with this in mind, we wanted to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the sector, as we know the challenges small-business owners face.

“The Pack & Send Small Business Logistics Grant means one lucky small business won’t have to worry about logistics and will instead be able invest time and effort on growing their business. We hope the grant helps the winning business drive success not only on the domestic stage, but internationally as well,” said Paul.

The Pack & Send Small Business Logistics Grant is open to Australian small businesses that currently use a postal, courier or freight provider to operate their business. Businesses will need to tell Pack & Send why they should win the grant and how it will take their business to the next level.

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges including:

  • Hannah Staples, co-founder of Peppermint Grove Australia
  • Kellie Rakich and Alexandra Lyons, co-founders of Ankalia Textiles
  • Michael Paul, CEO of Pack & Send
  • David Scicluna, Pack & Send Franchisee of the Year 2016.

Businesses can enter their business at www.packsend.com.au/small-business-logistics-grant. Applications are now open until 23 December 2016 and the winner will be announced in March 2017.
