New online store to boost eCommerce offering for small businesses launched

Payments provider Square, Inc. has launched the new Square Online Store, a product that will give Australian small-business owners the tools they need to start or grow their eCommerce business instantly. The product is fully integrated with Weebly, a powerful platform for building a website or online store.

Square Online Store enables business owners to easily create a professional website that fits their brand to help grow their operations in person and online. Additionally, it enables businesses to seamlessly sync their Square data, like catalogue items and inventory, with their website. Items automatically import to the website, and updates made in either Square Online Store or Square are updated in both places. Inventory also syncs automatically to ensure business owners can stay up to date and don’t have to waste time manually reconciling sales made online or in person.

“It’s crucial that businesses are able to reach their customers on any channel, whether in person, online or in apps,” said David Rusenko, head of eCommerce at Square. “With the new Square Online Store, we’re excited to integrate Weebly technology and bring the Square omnichannel experience to every business, from retailers to restaurants.”

Businesses will also have the option of a free starter plan (with no monthly subscription fees) and the ability to access integrated tools, including shoppable Instagram galleries, shipping, in-store pickup and more. Square Online Store will also bring extra functionality to restaurants, allowing businesses to offer seamless online ordering from their website, customised pickup times across multiple locations and the option to easily pay ahead for online orders.

Square’s Australian Country Manager Ben Pfisterer says the launch of Square Online Store in Australia will significantly boost the omnichannel capabilities that the company offers businesses in the market.

“Square Online Store is a unique eCommerce product that will make it easier than ever before for Australian businesses to start selling online, and they can now get started free,” Pfisterer said. “The ability to use one simple system that seamlessly shares data, reconciles sales, and gives you a holistic view of your business across all platforms is a big advantage for time-poor business owners.”
