How to deal with stress

ISBTV Ani Wilson

Each of us has got to this point in life having had different experiences at different times, and that means that every one of us reacts differently to stress. There is, therefore, no universal panacea for combating it, and we need to find our own way to deal with it.

Ani Wilson suffered chronic burnout twice in her career, but battled on. And in so doing, Ani realised that so many people she encountered in business were also suffering in silence. Ani retrained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)and stress mastery and now dedicates herself to helping high performers overcome the negative impact it has on their careers.

Ani tells us that stress is inevitable – we experience an average of 22 such events per day in everyday life, and in a high-pressure working environment that number only increases – it’s how we deal with it that counts.

Far from being all bad, stress has positive qualities, without which we cannot perform at our maximum capacity. Ani explains how we need it to provide the drive and motivation to be the very best we can be, revealing techniques that will enable us to harness stress for our greater good.
