ATO extend Digital by default consultation period

Have your say note pinned on the bulletin board

The ATO are encouraging small-business owners to have their say about their Digital by default initiative, extending the consultation period to 29 January

The ATO have extended the consultation period for their ‘Digital by default initiative, that proposes that small businesses will be required to use digital services to send and receive information and payments, with your feedback now welcomed until 29 January.

They are encouraging small-business owners to get involved by providing feedback on their Let’s Talk page, and if you’ve already provided feedbackthey’re encouraging you to send this information to other small-business owners you know so they can have their say too.

The proposed Digital by default initiative will deliver a simpler, more flexible way of interacting with the ATO that will put your needs first, and they will provide support for those who need help to change from paper to digital. Alternative services will be available for people who are unable to go digital and who qualify for an exemption.
