Take a good look at yourself before you start a business

If you are looking to start a business in 2021, it’s important to have a healthy and positive mindset, or you won’t get far with your new venture.

I wouldn’t be where I am today, a successful CEO of a national credit repair company, Credit Fix Solutions, without first having worked on myself as a person.

It’s important to look at where you are on a personal and mental level so you can get you on the right track to be able to start a new business.

The most important questions you need to ask yourself before you even take that first step is ‘”hy am I doing this? Why do I want to start my own business?”

I suggest writing down your “why” on a Post-it Note and stick it on a ‘vision board’ which is somewhere you can read it every day. You should also add some mantras to it.

Create a routine

Now you’ve got your vision board up, get yourself into a good routine, starting with when you first wake up. I believe in living each day to your very best. If you stumble, it’s OK! Just get back up and keep going. There is no right or wrong or good and bad, there are simply our choices. Choose wisely and be gentle.

It’s not that successful people are necessarily smarter than everyone else. It’s more likely that they simply make better choices and act. Life will either make you or break you. At the end of the day, it’s your choices that define your direction, not your IQ.

I know so many people who work late hours, and sometimes I know that we must. I have had some days that seemed to never end. But most days I shut off from business mode at around 4 pm to make time for my family and for myself. In my opinion, being successful isn’t bragging that you are busy, that you’ve just done another 16-hour day.

I think success is when you can manage to finish your work within a few hours every day and then the rest of the day is yours to do with as you please.

Good intentions

Take a deep breath, start being grateful when you wake up, start meditating, go for a walk and, slowly and surely, your days will turn into beautiful weeks, and then beautiful weeks will turn into fabulous years.

Having a good heart and having honest and humble intentions in business are important if you want to have a long-term successful business. You will never be successful if you have the wrong intentions in offering a service or product to others. People will see through you. They will recognise that you don’t come from a place of love and honesty, and they won’t sign on the dotted line.
