Women over 35 show greatest start-up and SME potential

Does entrepreneurship matter when it comes to the small-business sector, and can it be learned?

The majority of the funding and business education programs are focused on young male millennials but the results of the recent Start-up Muster report have found that it’s actually women over 35 who are showing the greatest growth and potential in this space.

The Women’s Business School Accelerate program is a six-month online course designed to give emerging and established business owners the business acumen, financial literacy, marketing strategies and support they need to create a global brand.

The Women’s Business School co-founder, Peace Mitchell , says, “Our dream is to take women on a journey, from the early days of their business through to their first million and beyond, to celebrate them, guide them, connect them, encourage them and ensure they have the support they need through all the highs and lows of business.

“The course contains everything business owners need to succeed including, a one day workshop in cities around Australia, live group calls, weekly video masterclasses, inspirational interviews, local meet-ups, an online mastermind group and a pitch day event in Melbourne at the end of the course. The teachers and mentors are all accomplished businesswomen from a range of industries, and a variety of diverse and relatable successful role models are an important element of this program,” Mitchell adds.

“There are so many programs out there for start-ups and pre-launch businesses but this one is aimed at those businesses that are beyond that level, have seen some success, know that they have potential and are working towards their next milestone.

“We are committed to inspiring women to reach their full potential by connecting them with the support they need and the education and skills required for building and growing a successful and scalable business. Accelerate is all about sharing the wisdom, lessons and skills from our top female entrepreneurs to the emerging women in business to create a new league of leading future Australian entrepreneurs. This is the program we wish existed when we were growing our business,” Mitchell concludes.

The Women’s Business School is now accepting applications for scholarships and enrolment. The Accelerate program intake commences in October.
