In running B2B Rocks conferences for three years – first in Paris and now in Sydney – I have had the chance and privilege to meet a lot of founders.
For this week’s renewal, I have to admit that we are welcoming a founder that impressed me particularly.
As an entrepreneur, you can feel comfortable with some business models and not with others.
I really like B2B SaaS. I think I now understand the different “ingredients” that you need to have to launch a promising SaaS.
But I feel very uncomfortable with marketplaces. A few years ago I tried to launch tripXP, a C2C marketplace for local activities, that eventually failed, and I’ve also seen so many people trying to launch one, but who never succeeded in solving the chicken and egg issue.
So when I now meet an entrepreneur that successfully launched a marketplace, I can only be more than impressed.
For this edition of B2B Rocks in Sydney, we are very fortunate to welcome Matt Mickiewicz, founder of HIRED.
What is impressive with Matt is that he hasn’t only launched HIRED, a very successful Silicon Valley company. He also launched SitePoint at the age of 14 and then two successful marketplaces: 99 design (a graphic-design marketplace) and Flippa (a marketplace for buying and selling websites). He did not launch just one successful marketplace, but three, including one of the most visited websites worldwide.
Matt will be present at B2B Rocks conference on Thursday to share his seven steps on how to scale to +250 employees. I personally can’t wait to listen to him.
Don’t miss Matt’s keynote and get 33% off on registration (all-day pass and half-day pass) using the code BUSINESSROCKS at https://b2brocks.co/sydney/ (where you can also discover all the speakers and the event schedule).
So, what exactly is B2B Rocks? It is a full-day conference gathering over 30 speakers from leading B2B SaaS startups, VC firms and innovation-driven companies, sharing lessons learned and insights about disruptive technologies.
Besides the inspiring talks, networking activities including drinks will give rising startups, fast-growing companies, VCs and journalists the opportunity to meet at the Locomotive Workshop. A good way to raise awareness on your activities!
