Edward Mallett, Employsure’s Founder and Managing Director, studied law at Cambridge University, UK and Duke University, USA.
After completing his studies, Edward commenced practice as a barrister at the top-rated set of employment barristers in the UK. He built a successful practice during his time as a barrister, acting on a number of the leading UK employment claims of recent years.
After leaving the bar, Edward worked for Peninsula Business Services, the UK’s largest provider of employment law and safety advice to the small to medium business sector.
Edward migrated to Australia in 2010 to establish Employsure, having identified that employers across Australia had a growing need for workplace relations advice following the introduction of the Fair Work Act in 2009. Today Employsure employs over 200 staff assisting more than 5000 clients with their day-to-day employment issues.
Rugby is Edward’s other passion – he played professionally before training as a barrister. He says that a scrum and a day in court are actually very similar.
Edward is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Human Resources Institute, and writes as well as lectures extensively on employment relations issues.
