Tax basics for your start-up

The ATO are running a series of webinars in late January and early February providing tax basics for small-business start-ups

If you’ve started running a business or are thinking about starting, you need to understand how tax will affect you.

Tax can be daunting but by joining the ATO’s 45-minute webinar Tax basics for small business – an introduction, you’ll get a good understanding of the basics.

The sessions will cover:

  • how different business structures are taxed
  • different tax rates and how you apply them
  • tax registrations (ABN, GST and PAYG withholding)
  • record keeping and what documentation you need to keep
  • help, support and more information.

You can ask questions at any point during the webinar and they’ll be answered at the end of the session. Don’t be afraid to any! The ATO are committed to help getting you started.
