UNSW Sydney is hosting a Pitch Night event at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre this Thursday to seek South West Sydney’s next entrepreneurs.
Pitch Night South West is a community event showcasing the region’s startup talent, providing prize money and industry support on offer to turn ideas into real-world impact. About 80 per cent of participants are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, this year’s Pitch Night will feature an expanded prize pool, a larger venue and more inspiring founders ready to take the stage.
The panel of judges will include Professor Attila Brungs – vice-chancellor and president at UNSW Sydney, Ken Morrison – CEO of Bradfield Development Authority, Professor Josephine Chow – deputy director of research at South West Sydney Local Health District, and Katrina Konstas – executive VP and Apac country manager at Afterpay.
The event will also see the attendance of NSW Minister for Industry and Trade Anoulack Chanthivong and Liverpool MP Charishma Kaliyanda.
Last year’s Pitch Night winner was My Special Needs Dental Home, a personalised dental care app for people with disabilities founded by Zanab Malik.
The event is in collaboration with UNSW Founders, the NSW Government, Investment NSW and the Liverpool Innovation Precinct.
