Veterans’ recruitment company wins top technology award

A business that helps Australian military veterans get jobs when they return to civilian life is the overall winner of the 2019 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Australia awards, held last week at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, bringing together Australia’s fastest growing technology companies to celebrate their success.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Australia program, now in its 19th year, ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies with a minimum cumulative revenue of $8 million over a three year period.

WithYouWithMe – whose CEO, Tom Larter, featured in an ISB Q&A last month – was crowned the overall winner, achieving a record-breaking 13,361 per cent revenue growth over a three-year period. WithYouWithMe is an organisation that trains military veterans to help them land the perfect job and build a career when they exit military service and assume civilian life.

Deloitte Private Partner and Technology Fast 50 Leader, Josh Tanchel, said WithYouWithMe’s result is the strongest in the history of the awards since the criteria was uplifted to the cumulative $8 million revenue threshold in 2010.

“I’d like to congratulate WithYouWithMe for winning the Technology Fast 50 Australia award and the sensational growth it has managed to achieve over the last three years,” Tanchel said.

“The company was founded by military veterans who experienced the painful transition from military to civilian life, and set out to change the process. When they embarked on this journey, they discovered a widespread problem of underemployment for veterans and complicated hiring processes.

“WithYouWithMe is levelling the job seeker playing field and helping veterans uncover their full potential by securing jobs in line with their skillset.”

Tanchel added, “I’m also thrilled to see that this year we had three businesses with female founders/co-founders or CEOs in our top 10, and a 44 per cent increase in female representation overall which is outstanding. But the real value here is the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and create a network that will serve them well in the future.

“These rapidly growing businesses are an exciting segment of the Australian economy that Deloitte Private has worked alongside for more than 10 years. We’re proud of our investment into programs like the Tech Fast 50, and we remain committed to supporting this important sector and the next generation of business leaders.”
