2022 Top 50 Small Business Leaders revealed

This evening we can reveal the identity of our 2022 Top 50 Small Business Leaders. Download the report here to read the inspiring stories of resilient small-business owners who have excelled in our key judging criteria of innovation, overcoming challenges, embracing sustainability and contributing to their local communities.

Every year our Top 50 Small Business Leaders Report celebrates the achievements and innovation of pioneers in the small-business sector. In the last couple of years we can add a huge dose of resilience into the recipe that makes a leader. Hot on the heels of the pandemic and natural disasters – both fires and floods – SMEs are having to cope with supply chain issues and rising inflation. So, those who have made the Top 50, alongside all their peers, deserve extra acclaim for what they have accomplished.

As is the case every year, our Top 50 represent small businesses in a hugely diverse range of fields. From Anita Aherne’s online resource centre for people with autism to Jackson Yin’s revolutionary sustainable construction company, and Linda Goldspink-Lord’s health supplements for horses and dogs to Freya Tasci’s beeswax food-preservation solution and Jessie Sadler’s breakthrough fashion brand for the wheelchair-bound, our Top 50 eptitomise the resilience, innovation and agility needed to thrive as a small business in today’s challenging economic climate.

I’d like to thank Businesscom, Ikea and Prospa for their generous sponsorship of this year’s report, which you can download here. All three are major service suppliers to small businesses, and we are excited to partner with them to celebrate the sector’s diversity and achievements.

The Report would also not be possible without the dedication of our judges, who give up their time to carefully assess the hundreds of submissions we receive. Thank you to Kate Engler, Marie Robertson-King, Nick Heuzenroeder and Nina Nguyen for their diligence in assessing the submissions and coming up with such an inspiring Top 50.
