We are delighted to announce that the Inside Small Business Top 50 Small Business Leaders Report will be launched at a virtual event sponsored by the Victorian Government in the second half of October. The report, that celebrates the diversity and achievements of the small-business sector, will highlight the founders and leaders who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to create one of the two million plus small businesses that are integral to our economy.

This year’s report is sponsored by ActionCOACH, the world’s first and largest business coaching company for SMEs, with Paul Henshall – CEO of the company’s Australian and New Zealand arm – one of our judges. The identity of the winners will be revealed at the launch event, with a fabulous range of industry sectors represented once again, from primary producers to hi-tech start-ups and health and wellbeing entrepreneurs to aviators selected by our judging panel from hundreds of submissions.

The Top 50 have been selected by our panel of judges from around Australia:

  • Irene Becker, co-founder, 99aupairs
  • Cass Hili, founder, Millennium Communications
  • Paul Henshall, CEO – Australia and New Zealand, ActionCOACH
  • Brooke Vulinovich, WA’s premier social media expert
  • Les Watson, time management consultant
  • Tim Ladhams, editor, Inside Small Business

The panel assessed the submissions of the small business leaders based on four key criteria:

  • Championing innovative thinking/technology/products/processes in the business.
  • Committing to sharing their knowledge with the wider small business community.
  • Overcoming significant challenges or setbacks to found and grow the business.
  • Having a broader impact on the world around them through initiatives in sustainability, diversity or partnerships with charitable organisations.

Although the coronavirus pandemic means we cannot get together to celebrate the launch in person this year, we are partnering with Business Victoria to put together an online gala event at which we will be able to hear the remarkable stories of a selection of the winners and celebrate the achievements of all 50 of our winners.

We are inviting you to register your interest in joining the fun from the comfort of your own home, which you can do here.

We look forward to revealing another high-quality, diverse group of small business leaders to you in October, and hope to seeing you online at the launch.
